Casualty 1 (As you cast this spell, you may sacrifice a creature with power 1 or greater. When you do, copy this spell.) Exile the top two cards of your library. You may play those cards this turn.Rules for this card
-
A keyword ability that allows you to sacrifice a creature to create a copy of a spell. See 702.153, “Casualty.”
Rulings (5)
-
Wizards of the CoastYou may sacrifice only one creature to pay a spell's casualty cost, and you copy the spell only once.
-
Wizards of the CoastCasualty N means “As an additional cost to cast this spell, you may sacrifice a creature with power N or greater.” and “When you cast this spell, if a casualty cost was paid for it, copy it. If the spell has any targets, you may choose new targets for the copy.”
-
Wizards of the CoastIf you pay the casualty cost of a spell, the copy will resolve before the original spell.
-
Wizards of the CoastThe copy of the spell is created on the stack, so it's not “cast.” Abilities that trigger when a player casts a spell won't trigger.
-
Wizards of the CoastYou must pay all costs and follow all normal timing rules for cards played this way. For example, you may play lands this way only during your main phase while no spells or abilities are on the stack and only if you haven't played a land yet this turn.
