Magic Rules: Practice, Learn, Look Up

Three ways into the rules: practice interactively with the trainer and quiz, read explanations of the key concepts, or look things up directly in the Comprehensive Rules.

The Magic: The Gathering Comprehensive Rules (CR) are the complete official rulebook published by Wizards of the Coast — around 900 numbered chapters from game concepts to casual variants, updated with every new set. Here you can look up any rule by number (e.g. 613.7), keyword (e.g. deathtouch) or plain-text question, with cross-references as links and a short plain-English summary at the top of every chapter. Our interactive learn pages and the stack trainer show the hardest concepts (stack, priority, layers, replacement effects) step by step with real cards.
